Aleksandr Valetto (b. 1996) is a sculptor and multimedia artist based in Tallinn, Estonia. His practice critically addresses object-making conventions in the context of the contemporary technological epoch. He uses the medium of sculpting, installation and widely conceptual techniques to question the future of material aesthetics by marring the tradition and disrupting the norms and codes. He employs various materials, from stone, glass and plastic to digital and immaterial forms. Valetto often crosses disciplinary boundaries in his projects for genuine spillover effect and synergy. His works were featured in various group exhibitions in Estonia and abroad and presented in the public space.
Aleksandr studied Sculpture, Installation and Environmental Design at the Estonian Academy of Arts, Crossmedia at the Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communications School and Architecture at the Università Iuav di Venezia.
